The post-consultation process explained
During your initial consultation, your prescribing specialist will work with you to develop a personalised care plan tailored to your specific health needs and medical condition/s if you have been found suitable for cannabis-based treatments. This includes reviewing your medical records, engaging in an open dialogue about your current symptoms, and discussing potential treatment options with you.
Once you have both agreed on the best course of action and the cannabis-based treatment options that will be prescribed, there are a few more steps to thetriage process that have to be completed before you can start your journey to improved health and well-being.
The MDT review
Before amedical cannabis prescription can be legally confirmed, your case will be reviewed by our multi-disciplinary team (MDT).
Our MDT includes the specialist who conducted your initial consultation, and other Releaf clinical team members including other specialist doctors, and the GPs and nurses we also have onboard. The combination of multiple medical experts allows us to guarantee that your treatment plan is being carefully evaluated from a range of medical perspectives, ensuring the best possible outcome for you.
The MDT will discuss your prescription, review your medical records, and make any final adjustments to your treatment plan if necessary.
Prescription confirmation and payment
Once the MDT review is complete, the clinical team will finalise your medical cannabis prescription and forward it to our pharmacy. At this point, you will receive both an email and an SMS notification informing you that your prescription is ready for payment.
To pay for your prescription, log into the Releaf Patient Dashboard, select the 'Prescriptions' tab (fourth from the top), select the product(s) you’d like to order and click 'Pay'. Once payment has been confirmed, your prescription will be processed by our pharmacy and sent for delivery to your chosen delivery location.
As soon as DPD has taken custody of your prescription for delivery, you will receive an SMS and email with a tracking number. You can use this number to track the progress of your package from the DPD website and know when it will arrive at your doorstep.
Please remember that you will have to sign for your prescription upon delivery.
Follow-ups
You will also need to book a time for your first follow-ups, which will take place around 60 days after your initial consultation, with subsequent follow-ups every 120 days thereafter. This will help progress your treatment plan and ensure you are on the right track to improved health.
You can book your follow-ups in your Releaf Patient Dashboard. Sign in, select the 'Appointments' tab, and choose a date and time that suits you. You can also change or cancel your appointment through the Dashboard if needed.

On the 7th July 2026, Releaf became the first medical cannabis clinic in the world to become B Corp certified. Verified by the non-profit B Lab, the certification sets in stone that Releaf is meeting the highest standard of social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability, and has made a commitment to continue improving the way we serve not only our patients, but also our team, and the wider community.
We are proud to announce a new partnership between Releaf and brainstrust, the UK charity supporting people affected by a brain tumour. Together, we want to make sure that anyone living with a brain tumour has access to compassionate, expert care through the most trusted medical cannabis clinic in the UK. Here is what the partnership means and how patients currently in treatment can get in touch.
A recent paper clearly highlights the huge gap between how many adults in the UK rely on illicit cannabis to help control the symptoms of their health conditions, compared to the numberlegally prescribed. An estimated 1.77 million UK adults still self-medicate with street-bought cannabis, with only around 100,000 having a legal UK medical cannabis prescription right now, despite medical cannabis being a fully legal treatment option since November 2018.
