Can I get a weekend medical cannabis appointment

Since opening our doors back in February of 2024, we have worked tirelessly to put together a truly world-class clinical team made up of over 25 highly trained doctors, supported by a unit of nurses, prescribing pharmacists, and patient support staff. They’re here to support you every day of the week.

Setting up any appointment/meeting/consultation can be hard with the hecticness of day-to-day life in 2025. Most of us juggle work, family, and personal commitments - but when you add health issues into that mix, it can quickly become a little overwhelming trying to organise everything.

So it's anything but a surprise that many of our patients here at Releaf ask if it’s possible to keep their medical cannabis consultations strictly on the weekends.

The short answer is yes, but there are a few things to consider, such as:

  • How can I make sure my medical cannabis appointment is at the weekend?
  • Will I be able to see the doctor who specialises in my condition at the weekend?
  • Are there any extra costs for weekend consultations with Releaf?

How does Releaf offer weekend appointments?

Since opening our doors back in February of 2024, we have worked tirelessly to put together a truly world-class clinical team made up of over 25 highly trained doctors, supported by a unit of nurses, prescribing pharmacists, and patient support staff.

In the UK, medical cannabis prescriptions can only be signed off by specialists listed on the Specialist Register of the General Medical Council (GMC). This is why all the doctors who hold initial consultations at Releaf are fully registered specialists in their fields, covering medical backgrounds including oncology, chronic pain management, neurology, psychiatry, palliative care, substance abuse, and more.

With such an amazing, wide-ranging team, we are in the position to be able to have more than one of our highly qualified doctors available to conduct consultations on the weekend - without any compromise. So yes, we can certainly offer you a weekend medical cannabis appointment.

Will I be able to see the doctor who specialises in my condition on the weekend?

Potentially, but we cannot make any guarantees.

As mentioned earlier, our clinical team is made up of a diverse group of specialists who each have their own areas of expertise. While we always do our best to accommodate patient requests for specific doctors, not all of our clinicians work on the weekends.

If you would like to see a specific specialist for your next consultation, please contact our Patient Support Team at support@releaf.co.uk, or by calling +44 (0) 20 3657 3346. The PST is available Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm.

Are there any extra costs for weekend consultations with Releaf?

No, there are no additional fees or charges for booking a weekend medical cannabis appointment with Releaf. The patient experience is at the core of everything we offer, and we understand that not everyone will have time during the week to schedule their consultations.

Accessing medical cannabis treatment should be as easy and stress-free as possible, which is why we do not charge extra for weekend appointments.
