Discover the benefits, conditions eligible for treatment, and how to take the first step toward a healthier you this New Year.

A lot of new year resolutions, crazes, or fads centre around health, and while we build up the motivation to get healthier, eat better, or spend more time on self-care with the best intentions, unfortunately, sometimes life just gets in the way.

For some, this could be because stress has built up at work, or because they’re not getting enough rest, while others may encounter a flare up with their health condition, or a dip in their mental health and wellbeing.

And while these crazes seem exciting or promising for a few weeks, in reality, not many New Year's resolutions actually offer sustainable solutions. So, why not rethink it?

Instead of: “I’m going to go to the gym 3 times a week from here on out” - why not, “I’ll invest in my health, address my concerns, and have more time - and energy - to improve my wellbeing further”?

That’s what we do at Releaf.

We break things down into smaller chunks, and try to address the root cause, whether that’s pain, or poor sleep, anxiety, or ADHD, people often find once they take back control of their health, things become more manageable, and frequently, they’re able to flourish.

Why do so many New Year's resolutions focus on health?

As the year draws to a close and your calendar starts to get packed, it's often easy to put off starting a new routine, or the idea of making self-improvements until after the new year for a fresh start or a new beginning. But, it's not entirely surprising, the thing most people want to improve is often their health: be it physical or emotional.

In 2022, one study found an estimated 5.4 million people in the UK have heightened concerns for their health following the pandemic, with 63% of those over the age of 55 admitting that their health is now ‘very important’ to them as a result.

74% of those who took part said since COVID-19, they have made a conscious effort to improve their health, and, 43% of those aged between 18 and 34 admitted to using services outside the NHS in the last six months, whether that’s private health insurance, medical apps, or diagnostic test providers.

This surge in attitudes towards personal responsibility, and taking control of individual health or wellbeing, has been noted in other research too. For example, the vitamins, minerals, and supplements market in the UK has grown by 13.3% on average every year since 2018 - reaching a value of £1.5 million in 2023.

In addition to this, 8 in 10 believe healthcare services in the UK are overstretched, 1 in 3 struggle to access their GP, 57% of generic medicines are in short supply, and, potentially now as a result, 67% of UK adults are monitoring at least one aspect of their health using a digital tracking app.

So, it's not surprising that many people are now looking into alternative healthcare options for the new year. But, did you know that medical cannabis may be one of these options?

Releaf: Your health. Your Body. Your Choice.

At Releaf we offer alternative treatments from the NHS for patients living with a wide range of health conditions. The cannabis-based products we prescribe are carefully formulated to complement various aspects of physical and mental health, and have been sourced from CQC complaint, or GMP compliant manufacturers only.

We believe that each individual is the expert in their own health, and so, we take a patient centred approach. Every treatment plan we design is tailored to the individual after they’ve discussed their needs with one of our highly experienced doctors.

Our Releaf+ subscription plan allows for regular check in consultations free of charge, and we hold appointments 7 days a week, to ensure we can provide continuous support and our world-first healthcare platform facilitates appointments, prescriptions, delivery, and travel certificates all in one place with ease.

So, really, it makes sense why we’ve become the fastest growing medical cannabis UK clinic in the UK, and why thousands have turned to us for complementary therapies and support.
