Endocannabinoid

There are two types of endocannabinoids, 2-AG and AEA, which are naturally produced by humans to bind to cannabinoid receptors, which then transmit essential messages around the body.

Endocannabinoids are naturally produced by the body on demand as neurotransmitters, which means they send important messages around the body and to the brain. By binding to, or activating cannabinoid receptors, endocannabinoids send signals to trigger responses. An example of this is sending a hunger signal in the brain to boost appetite. The two known endocannabinoids, 2-AG and AEA,  play a major role in maintaining balance or homeostasis within the body by transmitting these essential messages.
