Dronabinol

Dronabinol is a synthetically manufactured version of the cannabis compound THC, which can be prescribed privately in the UK to treat certain health conditions.

Structurally identical to THC, Dronabinol is a synthetic cannabinoid that has been manufactured. First used in Britain during the 1990s, in ‘98 the British Medical Association recommended that Dronabinol should become a licensed medicine, due to its efficacy in treating AIDS associated anorexia.  Today Dronabinol is still unlicensed, although it is still available through private prescription to stimulate appetite or to relieve vomiting and nausea associated with chemotherapy treatments.
