MDT: Multidisciplinary Team

Multidisciplinary Teams are groups of health and care professionals from differing backgrounds and fields of expertise, who work together towards to assess patients comprehensively before a medical cannabis prescription is confirmed.

What does the Releaf MDT do?

After a patient has an initial consult with one of our world-class clinical team specialists, their case is brought to the MDT for a full review, which is part of our triage process. This review is crucial in ensuring that the patient receives the best possible care and treatment plan.

The Releaf MDT is responsible for reviewing all aspects of the patient's medical history, including their current symptoms, past treatments, and medications, as well as any relevant diagnostic test results and the insights gained from their initial consultation. This thorough review allows our team to gain a comprehensive understanding of the patient's condition and needs.

Based on this review, the MDT then makes a collaborative decision on whether medical cannabis is appropriate for the patient and, if so, what type of cannabis-based medication and dosage would be most beneficial.

Who makes up the Releaf MDT?

Our Multi-disciplinary team is composed of various medical and healthcare professionals, including doctors, nurses, and patient support staff. Each member brings their unique expertise and experience to the table, allowing for a well-rounded and comprehensive approach to patient care.
