MDT: Multidisciplinary Team

Multidisciplinary Teams are groups of health and care professionals from differing backgrounds and fields of expertise, who work together towards to assess patient comprehensively before a medical cannabis prescription is offered.

Multidisciplinary Teams are made up of medical professional and healthcare specialists of differing disciplines. Together, these individuals have discussions to make collective decisions regarding patient care that are effective and efficient.

What does the Releaf MDT do?

After a patient has an initial consult with one of our prescribing specialists, their case is brought to the MDT for a full review. This review is crucial in ensuring that the patient receives the best possible care and treatment plan.

The Releaf MDT is responsible for reviewing all aspects of the patient's medical history, including their current symptoms, past treatments, and medications, as well as any relevant diagnostic test results. This thorough review allows our team to gain a comprehensive understanding of the patient's condition and needs.

Based on this review, the MDT then makes a collaborative decision on whether medical cannabis is appropriate for the patient and, if so, what type of cannabis-based medication and dosage would be most beneficial.
