Linalool

Linalool is a natural terpene that is commonly found within Cannabis sativa L. genus.

Present in lavender, cinnamon, and certain cannabis cultivars, linalool is one of the 400 or so terpenes produced by cannabis plants. Along with beta-caryophyllene, myrcene, limonene, and pinene, it is one of the more prevalent terpenes in cannabis.

What does linalool smell like?

Linalool has a floral, almost lavender-like scent, which is not surprising given its heavy presence in lavender plants. It is also found in many other flowers and herbs, making it a popular natural additive for perfumes and scented products.

What are the potential therapeutic properties of linalool in medical cannabis?

Aside from its pleasant aroma, a growing body of research into linalool has started to uncover a range of potential therapeutic applications. Some studies have found that linalool may have anti-inflammatory, anticancer, anti-hyperlipidemic, antimicrobial, antinoceptive (pain-relieving), analgesic, anxiolytic (antianxiety), antidepressive and neuroprotective properties.
