Hemp is a type of cannabis plant that typically contains very low quantities of THC and is therefore not often used in medical cannabis treatments, unless they are CBD based.

Hemp plants are part of the cannabis sativa family. In comparison to other cannabis plants, they contain miniscule amounts of THC but can contain high quantities of CBD. For this reason, hemp is often used to make CBD products or oils, but it can also be used for industrial purposes such as making animal feed, ropes or hemp textiles.
