Epilepsy
Epilepsy is another term for seizure disorders and encompasses a range of neurological conditions that cause a surge in electrical activity in the brain and seizure onset.
Around 1 in 3 people have a family member living with some form of epilepsy, and there are various types of seizures associated with the condition. Seizures can vary in frequency and severity depending on a number of factors but they are often unprovoked. Repeated seizures can permanently affect the brain and in some cases epilepsy can be fatal.
