Sativex

Sativex is a licensed medical cannabis product approved for prescription through the NHS in the UK and is also a legal prescribable option in several other countries worldwide. It contains a 1:1 ratio of THC and CBD.

Where is Sativex Legal?

 

Sativex is currently approved for prescription in over 25 countries, including the UK, Australia, Canada, Germany, Spain, and Switzerland. It has also received regulatory approval in several other countries such as Brazil, Israel, and New Zealand.

 

Where is Sativex made?

 

Sativex is produced by G.W. Pharmaceuticals, a UK-based company. It is manufactured in a state-of-the-art facility in Wiltshire, England. The company has been researching and developing cannabis-based medicines since 1998 and is considered a pioneer in the field.

 

What is Sativex used for?

 

Sativex is prescribed for muscle stiffness and spasticity in patients diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. In the UK, patients must first try at least two conventional treatments for spasticity before being prescribed Sativex.

 

How is Sativex taken?

 

Sativex is an oral spray. Patients spray it into their mouth or under their tongue, where it is quickly absorbed into the bloodstream.
