PCR: Polymerase Chain Reaction

Polymerase Chain Reactions are manufactured by scientists to analyse DNA sequences by creating copies of them.

The PCR technique essentially acts as a magnifying glass, amplifying a DNA sample until it is large enough to study. The original DNA sequence is reproduced millions, sometimes even billions, of times and then these replicas are synthesised together to produce a larger picture for biologists to analyse in detail.
