Couch lock

Couch lock is a colloquial or slang term used to describe an adverse reaction to cannabis. Primarily associated with Indica strains, ‘couch lock’ can happen when users have taken a high dose of cannabis that has a relaxing or sedative effect, and as a result they feel ‘locked’ or unable to get up from the couch. For those who want to remain alert this can be inconvenient, but others sometimes strive to achieve ‘couch lock’ if they are sick or unwell and require plenty of rest
