Releaf’s medical cannabis survey

All too often, the conversations that surround medical cannabis are based on assumptions and shaped by those who’ve never used it.  When assumptions dominate, misunderstanding follows. Misunderstanding breeds uncertainty, and uncertainty breeds stigma. That’s something we want to change.

At Releaf, we believe the best way to make this change is by listening to those who use cannabis-based treatments on a daily basis, and letting their voices be heard.

That’s why we’re launching our nationwide medical cannabis patient survey: to better understand your experiences, so that conversation can be grounded in reality - and not presumptions.

To put it simply: the more we know, the better we can advocate - and the more we advocate, the better we can educate.

Why patient surveys matter

If you want to know the truth about a topic, who do you speak to? The experts.

And when it comes to understanding the impact medical cannabis can have on daily life, and overall quality of life, medical cannabis patients are the experts.

That’s why we want to hear from you: to raise awareness, shift attitudes, improve support, and enhance the care we provide.

While medical cannabis was legalised in the UK in 2018, almost seven years on, mainstream understanding is still lacking, and public perceptions remain convoluted. But, the best way to challenge fiction is with facts - and with your help, we can do just that.

Lived experiences speak for themselves - and in high volumes. Your insights can help us take action.

What we want to know

We’ve designed our medical cannabis patient survey to uncover the experiences, preferences, and attitudes of real medical cannabis patients in the UK. This survey is completely anonymised to protect your identity and your answers' integrity, and it should only take ten minutes of your time to complete.

From condition-specific questions, to questions that inquire about preferred administration methods, the practicality of these, and your comfortability while using alternative treatments in different spaces - this survey covers it all.

We’ll be asking how friends, family, healthcare teams, and work acquaintances have reacted or responded to your use of cannabis-based treatments, and for more insights about lived experiences when it comes to medical cannabis and driving and travelling.

These questions are designed to hear the truth straight from the source, leaving no stone left unturned, so that we can lift the lid on what life with medical cannabis really looks like.

Curious to know more?

Here’s a sneak peek of some of the multiple choice questions included in our survey:

  • Since becoming a medical cannabis patient, how effective would you say your treatment is at managing the symptoms of your condition(s)?
  • Overall, how would you say your treatment has impacted your ability to perform daily tasks and activities?
  • Since being prescribed medical cannabis, has your perception of cannabis changed?
  • Do you ever worry about administering your medical cannabis flower, or using your vapouriser, in public?
  • Do you feel confident driving with cannabis in your system, so long as your not impaired?
  • Since being prescribed, have you travelled with your Releaf prescribed medication?
  • If yes, how confident did you feel when travelling with your Releaf medication on a scale from 1 to 10?

Where your answers will lead

We’re not collecting data for data’s sake. We plan on doing big things with this research.

From creating large scale marketing campaigns, to tailoring our service, to developing press releases that will be sent to mainstream media outlets and research journals - the results of this survey will contribute to our continuous efforts to improve the awareness and understanding of medical cannabis. Ultimately, it will help us highlight the impact this treatment has on patients across the UK, in both small and large scales.

But that’s not all.

Starting a new health journey can be daunting. Hearing from others can reduce feelings of uncertainty. It can make the unknown accessible, and inspire others to take control of their health by exploring alternative options - which is why we plan to headline these findings on our website, social media, and outreach communications. So others know they’re not alone.

How you can take part in Releaf’s research efforts

If you’re a Releaf medical cannabis patient who has consented to marketing messages, a link to our online survey will be on its way to your email inbox very soon.

This survey has been designed to take around ten minutes, but its results will last a lifetime.

The more we know, the better we can do - and we can’t do it without you.

Thank you in advance for helping us turn real stories into real change.
