Synthetic

The term synthetic refers to a man-made version, or manufactured imitation, of an existing natural product.

In laboratories, synthetic cannabinoids can be created to ‘mimic’ the phytocannabinoids that naturally occur in the cannabis plant, like THC and CBD. Certain synthetic cannabinoids are deemed as safe and are used in medicines, but others - often known as ‘spice’ - can contain dangerous contaminants that can be hazardous to health.
