HPLVD: Hop Latent Viroid

Hop Latent Viroid is a pathogen found to infect plants from the Humulous family and therefore can infect cannabis plants.

The result of a HPLVD infection is known as “Dudding”, which is caused by symptoms such as stunted growth, poor nutrient uptake, leaf deformity, reduction in inflorescence and resin production. HPLVD is not destroyed with alcohol and requires bleach to kill it.
